Life of Bryan

I realize not wanting to do self checkout makes me a grumpy old man, but what pushes me over the edge into full-on curmudgeon territory is when a line attendant tries to redirect me there from a longer, human-powered line that I’ve clearly chosen on purpose. #gtfo

At a conference today at Ilani Casino and the whole place smells like the inside of an Abercrombie and Fitch.

Of all the types of people I have trouble understanding, it’s the people who never ask questions who baffle me the most.

Went past the light rail yard yesterday on one of my walks. I’ve always been a lover of trains.

One of the downsides of having an electric range is not being able to cook tortillas directly on a gas burner. Slightly charred tortillas were a staple of my childhood growing up with my grandmother.

What is something you discovered or got into later in life (hobby, interest, activity) that brings you a lot of joy or excitement? I’ve gotten stuck in my routine and identity. I’d like to branch out and do a little self discovery, but it’s been difficult with two kids under 5.

I’m skipping Easter with the in-laws today for my physical and mental health. I have some guilt about it, but I’m putting it out of my mind to enjoy the peace of this beautiful day by doing some minor maintenance on my car out in the sun. It’s well past time I started prioritizing my own care.

I’m not feeling Apple’s poor implementation of content restrictions. Not only with explicit music sliding though even when content restrictions are turned on, but also how it’s impossible to filter movies or TV shows by rating in the Apple TV app. Wish they’d improve the experience.

If anyone knows of any excellent food blogs, I’d be gratefully if you shared the love. I’ve been experimenting a lot more with new dishes and building my recipe book. TIA!

While I’m not sold on reincarnation, heaven, or hell, I often find myself hoping that karma or judgment might come into play based on how someone treats animals.

Ever ponder the reach of pros' blogs vs. TikTok, Instagram and YouTube stories on the same topics? Millions view the latter. Is the goal spreading ideas or writing for its own sake?

I guess Zoomers are calling VCRs “VHS Players”. There are entire debates going on about this on Instagram like VCR has been Inceptioned.

VHS tapes, yes. VHS player? Never.

My second story got up to 85° today in Portland and opening windows didn’t budge the temp. I’m a little ashamed to say I turned on the AC on March 18th to cool down my office. I can’t focus when I’m sweating.
