In Italy, halfway through our trip, and I’m thinking about modifications to my own home based on my experience thus far. Such as real shutters. Bidets. Heated towel racks. Not giving up my American size fridge, however.

Bryan My second floor gets so hot and expensive to cool in the summer! Also, I’ve learned they’re a big help with reducing light and outside noise (e.g. birds at 5 a.m.).
