What are the benefits of clicking the CDN button for images on on micro.blog vs. not?

Also, I’ve seen a few people experimenting with omg.lol blogs lately. I checked it out, but it looks like a web-based markdown editor, which is a big hurdle for me. Do you know if there’s the ability to use a headless CMS or app like Ulysses with that?
