Actually took my meds today and spent some time this morning filling out my calendar for the month ahead. A tiny bit of relief for my ADHD brain having the chaos written down somewhere. I’ll still mess something up, but at least it won’t feel like the tail wagging the dog from now until New Year’s.

Warming up inside the Nature Exploration Station during Zoo Lights yesterday at the Oregon Zoo.

A child is crawling and laughing inside a hollow log.

I’m getting excited about Ghost’s implementation of ActivityPub. I have used it to micro blog, but it doesn’t work well out of the box, so I had to create a highly customized theme. But it now looks like they’re working on short form posts and separate feeds for long vs short posts.

I wonder how often dogs are just like “I wish these people would quiet down already.” And then anytime they bark we’re shushing them. We don’t deserve them.

Meanwhile, 100 ft of Christmas lights barely scratches the surface when it comes to decking the halls with holiday cheer. Gonna need to make another HD run.

Woke up to 30° in PDX and lots of frost. I’m a wimp in the cold these days. 🥶

A digital display shows the time as 9:13 am, the temperature at 30°F, and an air quality index of 51, with a map in the background.

There’s always those people who email you something right before the weekend or heading into a holiday with a message that sits with you the whole time, stressing you out when you’re supposed to be relaxing. To hell with those people.

Turkey and football. Lions have lost the last 7 Thanksgiving games. I think this year will be different. #onepride 🦁 🏈

My cheese sauce/roux recipe for Mac n cheese:

6 Tbsp butter, 1/4 grated onion, 2 cloves minced garlic, 2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1/4 tsp Cheyenne pepper, 2 tsp dry mustard, 3.5 cups milk, 1.75 cups heavy cream, 8 oz cubed aged white cheddar, 6 tbsp flour, dash of worscestershire. 👨‍🍳

Scoping out urban condos, when 5+ units in the same building hit the market at the same time, you just know the HOA fee has gone through the roof to fund some deferred maintenance capital investment.

Last night I went to my second writers meetup at Lucky Lab beer hall in NW Portland. Meeting some really friendly and fun people. I can see this becoming a weekly thing.
